NEW MEMBER FEATURE – Justin Powell, “Simplified” Bassist with Trophy Rainbow

It is a rarity in life to meet someone which, in an instant, you can identify as a kindred spirit. Well, we had one such experience last week with one of our new members to the Guild; a man named Justin Powell.  Justin is an avid fly-fisher which can be attested to by his Instagram account (@justinpowellbassist) and a serious musician, playing as the bassist for the band “Simplified.” Upon engaging Justin in conversation regarding his monster Rainbow Trout, I found that he actually grew up not too far from our home office and actually shared a couple of friendships with people we know.  We discussed local fisheries, trophy fish chasing, music, and a variety of other topics, and ended with not only a business relationship, but I think a foundation for friendship moving forward.  His fishing addiction, infectious personality, and general “nice-ness” was encouraging and we welcome Justin Powell, and his 29″ Rainbow Trout, into the Trophy Anglers Guild with open arms.

Justin’s fish was caught using a hand tied egg-sucking leach fly on 10lb test leader line. This fish is one of the many big trout in New York’s 18 Mile Creek, a tributary to Lake Ontario.

We look forward to many more submissions from Justin in the future.  Good luck out there. Be safe on the water. Tight lines and Big Fish, friends!
